My professional path was never entirely straight. I am a state-certified actress, a trained childcare worker, and today co-founder and managing director of Alimax.
At school I often could not keep up with the structures I was given. I tried, but the way content was taught and performance was tested did not work for me. For a long time I concluded from that I was simply capable of less.
During my acting training I experienced for the first time what becomes possible when people do not all have to walk the same path. There, people looked closely at what someone already brings with them, where their strengths lie, and which approach makes development possible. That let me discover sides of myself and develop abilities that school had held back rather than encouraged.
Today I am building what I myself lacked for so long: learning environments that let every person grow beyond the limits a rigid system has set for them.
At Alimax I translate that conviction into clear decisions and a direction that creates impact. I orient my work consistently around the people we build for, and around the possibilities our products should open up for them. Because I have experienced myself how much rigid systems can narrow your own view of what is possible, that standard is non-negotiable for me.
I want to help ensure that abilities are no longer overlooked simply because they show themselves outside prescribed forms. Because what an individual loses that way is in the end missing for all of us. When more people can show what is really in them, we gain together as a society.

I drifted through school without ever having to try, and because everything came to me on its own, I never learned how to learn. A gap like that stays invisible for as long as things keep opening by themselves.
I first noticed it at university, where I studied physics and astronomy because I wanted to know what the world is made of and by what rules it holds together. There, for the first time, I stood in front of something that would not open on its own, and found that while I knew the state of understanding very well, I had never walked the road that leads to it. I have since completed two master’s programs up to the thesis.
Alina and I have been together for twelve years, and she is today my wife and my co-founder; in all that time we have kept laying our two educations side by side. From the outside they could hardly look more opposed, since she worked hard and was left behind while I kept up without ever having to work at all. In her case the system overlooked what she was capable of, and in mine it never checked whether I was capable of anything. It failed to look closely either time, it only failed in different ways.
What angers me the most is how much is left to chance in the moment a thought finally opens. Almost always it takes a person who finds, at the right instant, the words that happen to fit you. Whoever experiences that moment is handed an advantage, while everyone else walks the extra mile, just because nobody met them where they happened to be standing.
Since then I have built systems that take knowledge out of the places where it sits stuck and make it visible and usable for others, and at Levio it is the same work on the subject that matters most to me: we turn existing teaching materials into a knowledge model that shows what connects to what and what has to be understood before the next thing can be, and from that we compose a path for each individual learner. Every choice it makes has to stay explainable afterwards: anyone who wants to know why this particular exercise came up now gets an answer. At Alimax I am responsible for operations and for the technical build.
What I want is for that moment of understanding to stop being a matter of luck, and for no one to depend on happening to meet the right person. If we manage that, the detour I took to get here will turn out not to have been one.
The same question has occupied me for essentially my whole working life: how can people learn better? The answers have changed over time — my curiosity about them has not.
It all began as a teacher. After that, many years led me into educational publishing, media houses, and the development of digital learning offerings. I was able to design learning media, help build education platforms, and work with schools, universities, teachers and learners. Those different perspectives showed me that good content alone is not enough. What is decisive is whether it reaches people where they currently stand. That is exactly what I work on again very practically today — as a trainer in youth and adult education, and as an independent consultant and project developer for innovative learning media.
Against that background, Levio fascinates me in particular. The idea of not simply digitising existing teaching materials but developing an adaptive learning coach out of them connects technology with didactics in a way I have long been looking for.
AI is not an end in itself for me. It becomes interesting where we make it a flywheel for human capacity. In the context of learning that means: enabling individual learning paths, supporting teachers, and creating more time for what learning is ultimately about — understanding, guidance and development.
At Alimax I bring in my experience from education, journalism and learning-media development. I particularly enjoy working at the intersection of pedagogy, technology and product development. Because for me good innovation does not arise where technology can do as much as possible, but where it helps people unfold their potential better.
Vitalii Skivskyi
UI/UX Designer
I began in architecture and industrial design, which taught me to see products as complete systems: how they look, work, and feel. That perspective led me to product design, where I have spent more than ten years across SaaS, gaming, AdTech, e-commerce, and fintech.
I have grown from primarily designing interfaces to owning product and team outcomes. I have built and led design teams, improved collaboration between design, art, and development, mentored designers, and contributed to more than 20 games, from mobile to AAA. Studio work, especially in games, gave me hands-on exposure to art direction and sharpened my sense of style, visual hierarchy, and ability to create high-impact animation moments.
In SaaS, I connect design choices to outcomes through research, A/B testing, conversion, and onboarding improvements. Before deciding how something should look, I want to understand why we are building it. I enjoy defining the problem, shaping product direction, creating the experience, and working with teams to bring it to a strong result.
Alimax appeals to me because it offers a chance to shape products early and help them grow. I bring cross-industry experience and an appetite for experimentation, especially at the intersection of design, technology, AI, and human behaviour. I use AI to explore ideas faster, improve workflows, and build better products, never as a replacement for design thinking.
Gerardo Davis

My path has been anything but linear, but it’s always been driven by two things: a love for building businesses and a curiosity about how the world works. After getting my law degree, I jumped straight into the deep end of entrepreneurship, learning what it really takes to run a business from the ground up. That led to over a dozen years at JPMorgan Chase, where I got to dive into everything from legal operations to global risk management—basically learning how massive organizations build, scale, and protect themselves.
A couple of years ago, I decided it was time for a change of pace. I stepped away from the corporate track, moved to Vienna (a lifelong dream!), and earned a Master’s in Global Business Law. Around the same time, a trip with my best friends sparked an idea for a social challenge card game, which grew into a company I now run called Last Night Out Cards. Building that business and traveling to promote it reminded me how much I love the creative side of bringing people together.
Today, what I bring to the table is a unique mix of big-corporate structure and hands-on startup grit. I love helping teams navigate the trickier side of business—like strategy, operations, and regulation—without letting red tape get in the way of growth. I joined the team to help build a strong foundation for the future, make sure we’re scaling smart, and have a lot of fun while doing it!
